Visitor Expectations

Gilbert House Children’s Museum seeks to provide a safe and fun environment for every visitor who steps inside the museum. It takes all of us to do our part in being responsible and considerate of everyone in the museum.

Stay Together & Play Together adults must stay with their children at all times. GHCM is best experienced together!

We Exercise Respect and Kindness. Please engage with children, other visitors, staff, and exhibits with the utmost respect and kindness. Learning through play is most successful in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Please treat the exhibits well so other visitors can enjoy them! Our staff believe in the power of play, please treat them with kindness as they ensure you have a fantastic and safe visit.

No Food or Drink in Houses. Food and drink are prohibited in the museum. There are signs indicating designated eating areas. The Picnic Pavilion in the Outdoor Discovery Area is a family favorite for enjoying refreshments and snacks.

By visiting Gilbert House Children’s Museum, you acknowledge and accept our Code of Conduct. GHCM reserves the right to deny or revoke access to any person whom GHCM believes is violating our Code of Conduct.

Gilbert House Children’s Museum reserves the right to update these policies at any time.

Media Policy

Gilbert House Children's Museum reserves the right to use any photography/video taken on the premises without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. With admission into the Museum, you consent to the recording of photographs and/or video of yourself, your dependents, and accompanying group. You grant the Museum all rights to use these images for educational, promotional, advertising, and other purposes which advance the overall mission of the Museum to "inspire children to learn through creative play." All rights to the photographs and video belong to the Museum. We never use identifying information with a child's image. Please notify the Front Desk if you do not consent to this policy.

 

Security Policy

Security cameras are stationed throughout the Museum for the purpose of visitor safety and the protection of Museum property.

Museum staff is in radio communication with one another. When children and parents/caregivers are separated, staff follows a clear protocol to reunite the parties in an efficient manner. If this situation happens to you please contact staff at the Front Desk or staff you seen on site.
