Recycling Donations

Bottledrop Fundraiser

Jump on board by participating in our BottleDrop Fundraiser.  Easily turn your bottles and cans into cash for Gilbert House’s new Bubble Exhibit and Outdoor Inventor’s Yard at a BottleDrop location near you.  Here’s how you can participate:

•  Request blue collection bags from the front desk at the Museum.  These bags are labeled with the Museum’s barcode.

•  Fill the bags with your empty cans/bottles and drop them off at any BottleDrop redemption center.  All proceeds will be added to the Museum’s fundraiser account.

•  Consider collecting cans/bottles from your neighborhood, as well.  People are often quick to donate their recyclables to a good cause.

Recyclables for Crafts

We currently accept the following items for use in our Gilbert Engineering Studio:

  • Egg cartons
  • Toilet paper tubes
  • Paper towel tubes
  • Boxes
  • Oatmeal containers
  • Lids from containers
  • Plastic containers (yogurt, etc.)
  • Bottles
  • Styrofoam trays
  • Tin cans

We no longer have use for newspapers, magazines, or glass recyclables.  The items listed are used for creative construction.  Please drop off your recyclables at the front desk during our hours of operation.  Thank you for washing/drying containers before dropping them off.
