THE
PRESCHOOL AT A.C. GILBERT'S DISCOVERY VILLAGE
IS NOW ACCEPTING NEW REGISTRATIONS FOR FALL 2010.
"Children
who attend high-quality preschool
enter kindergarten with better pre-reading skills, richer vocabularies,
and stronger basic math skills than those who do not."
-- NIEER Director W. Steven Barnett, PhD.

nurture curiosity and the desire to learn. The preschool, designed
for ages 3-5, is housed within Salem's renowned children's museum.

MEET
THE STAFF
Christopher
Ross is the lead preschool teacher for The Preschool at
A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village. His background includes a
Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood.
He has been involved in the education of children for over 20
years, specializing in Language Arts, Science, Art, and the
Wonders of Play. In his free time, Chris enjoys hiking, gardening,
reading, writing and spending time with his wife and five-year
old daughter.
Kari
Collins started volunteering at the museum when her son
was still too young for preschool, then joined the museum teaching
staff when her daughter started kindergarten; he's now a freshman
in college and she's a sophomore in high school. Kari's theatrical
training enlivens her classes in science, literacy and, yes,
theater for preschoolers. She also teaches for Da Vinci Girls,
an elementary-grade after-school program in science, art, math
and technology.
