Every summer, Gilbert House Children’s Museum hosts a monthly Science Night for Adults; an evening full of science, live music, food, and adult beverages. Tickets are available at the door only, and are $8 for members, and $10 for nonmembers.

We’ve just set the summer dates and speakers for the 2017 series of Science Night for Adults. See below for more details about each night.

June 22, 2017 • 6:30 pm to 10 pm – Scott Meyer and Karen Holman from Willamette University Department of Chemistry will present on “The Chemistry of Sustainable, Renewable Energy.” Enjoy music by Tony Smiley (The Loop Ninja), delicious food from The Kitchen on Court Street, a raffle with prizes, and adult beverages*.

July 27, 2017 • 6:30 pm to 10 pm – Jennifer Godfrey, Park Naturalist Interpreter from Oregon State Parks, will prepare us for the upcoming solar eclipse, Isaac Turner will play live music, and food will be available for purchase from The Kitchen on Court Street.  Adult beverages* will also be available for purchase; St. Innocent Winery will elevate your evening by providing a sophisticated wine-pouring experience, along with Gilgamesh Brewing, and Wandering Aengus Ciderworks.

August 17, 2017 • 6:30 pm to 10 pm –  Joe Ibrahim, head wine maker from Willamette Valley Vineyards will discuss viticulture & wine making (and Willamette Valley Vineyards wine will be available!). Rich Swanger of Seahorse the Band will perform his resonant and contemplative melodies, while delicious food from The Kitchen on Court Street and adult beverages* will be available.
