Preschool Programs

A.C. Gilbert’s Discovery Village offers literature-based hands-on activities in sciences, arts and humanities for students ages 3-5. All classes are 45 minutes in length. Since smaller classes make hands-on learning more effective, we may limit Village classes to 12 students. Most classes can be taught at your facility (outreach) or at the Village.

Humanities

Pioneer Times

Students will learn how pioneer children lived. They will learn how to make butter, greet their teacher, and create their own miniature slates.

Art

Clay Creations

Students will enjoy a comprehensive exploration of texture and shape while learning different hand-building techniques. Clay projects will be ready to pick up 3 weeks after class.

Frog Frenzy!

Students will listen to a frolicking frog story, receive a take home mini-book about frogs and do fun frog activities.

Farm Animal Fun

Students will enjoy a humorous farm animal story and take home a farm counting book. In addition, they will make two fun farm animal crafts.

Science

Dino Dig

What makes a dinosaur unique? Students will learn about dinosaur bones, fossils, and even make a “fossil” to take home.

Butterfly Basics

Students will learn how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly as they listen to this favorite story. To demonstrate their knowledge, they will create their own model of a butterfly life cycle to take home.

STARLAB Portable Planetarium

Would you like to bring the night sky inside? This portable planetarium allows students to explore the stars and other far out fun facts. STARLAB requires a space that is at least 20' square and 12' tall, with an electrical outlet.

At the Village or Outreach (25 students maximum): $95
