What's Happening
This exhibit features a central workstation for children to create fabulous toys and other inventions from common household goods. Explore the artist inside you by creating a number of fun, take-home projects.

Look at the materials available in the room. What were they used for before they came here? How can you reuse the materials to create a toy? How many different materials can you use in your creation?
Try This
Get together with a friend or parent. Pick one item in the room and try to list all the ways the item can be reused. Now do it!
Try This
Create some people or animals out of materials in the room. Make clothes or other accessories for them.

At Home
Make a fun toy called a tangram at home from an old plastic bottle.
Supplies:
An old one gallon plastic milk bottle and a utility knife.
How To:
Have an adult cut a square out of the side of the milk bottle with a utility knife. Draw lines on the square to match those in the picture shown here.
